Select a Genre

This app allows you to browse and listen to radio stations from Australia.

To play a station, simply click on its card.
If a station is already playing, clicking its card again will pause/resume the playback.
The currently playing station will be highlighted with a purple border.
If a station has previously failed to play, it will be marked with a yellow warning icon (⚠️). This icon is removed if the station plays successfully.
Stations with an AI-generated description will show a blue info icon (ℹ️). Hover over it to read the description.
The "Now Playing" bar at the bottom will show the name of the active station and a live audio visualizer (for supported stations).
Click the station's logo in the "Now Playing" bar to view more details about the station.

When a station is playing, click the star icon (⭐) in the footer to add it to your favorites. Click it again to remove it.
Your favorites are saved in your browser for your next visit.
Click the ⭐ Favorites button at the top to see your list of saved stations for quick access.

Use the Search stations... bar to quickly find stations by name or description.
Click Browse Genres to open a list of inferred genres. Select a genre to filter stations.
Click Show All Stations in the genre list to clear the genre filter.
Use the Settings icon (⚙️) to filter stations based on playback issues.

Click Select State to choose a specific Australian state (e.g., "New South Wales," "Victoria") to view its local radio stations.
Choose All of Australia from the state list to see all stations nationwide.

When a station is playing, an "Enhanced Description" button will appear in the footer if one hasn't been generated yet.
Clicking this button will use AI to generate a more detailed and engaging description for the station.
The enhanced description for the playing station will automatically scroll in the footer.
AI-generated results are cached in your browser, so you won't have to generate them again for the same station.

Press Ctrl + J (or Cmd + J on Mac) at any time to export all cached "Enhanced Descriptions" as a JSON file.
Press Ctrl + A (or Cmd + A on Mac) to automatically cycle through every station from every state, generate descriptions for any missing ones, and save them all to a single JSON file. Warning: This is a long process and will make many API calls.

To use the AI features, you can optionally provide your own Gemini API key. This key will be saved locally in your browser.
